2024-25: Finished 10-8 in singles action and won eight doubles matches ... Went 5-5 in NESCAC singles matches ... Won three straight NESCAC singles matches against Tufts (March 15), Bates (March 16) and Colby (March 26) ... From April 12-26, went 4-1 in doubles competition.

Why did you choose Williams College?
I chose Williams because as a South African turned South Carolinian, I figured it was time to experience a third ‘South’ - south of Vermont. But seriously, I love how Williams offers top-notch academics and a place where I can be challenged and grow. Plus, it is the perfect spot for learning, playing tennis and attempting to survive in the snow...still a work in progress.
Could you describe a moment when you felt the most Eph pride?
As a first year, I have not had as many moments as my teammates, but I felt the most Eph pride at the ITA Regional this past fall, my first college event. With so many schools there, one thing stood out, no matter where you were, you could always hear a Williams' teammate cheering the loudest. Representing a school with that kind of energy and that has each other’s backs made me incredibly proud to be an Eph.
What is your pre-match routine?
I like to keep things simple and relaxed. I will catch up with teammates and do a quick routine-oriented warm-up to feel sharp. For me, the less I think about the match, the better. My favorite part is the team huddle.
If you can have one of your teammates' tennis strokes (forehand, backhand, etc.), whose would you take and why?
I would take Yuu Ishikawa's volleys. She is so good at the net. It is like the ball is scared to miss her racket.
What is your intended major(s)?
Economics and political science.
Could you describe your dream job?
I am not sure yet what my dream job is, but I am leaning toward something in the financial field. I am drawn to understanding markets and how financial systems operate, so I would love a role where I can explore that further.
Do you belong to any other clubs, groups or organizations on campus? If yes, which ones?
Not yet. I am still getting settled and exploring what Williams has to offer. I would love to join some clubs or organizations soon.
If you could play another sport at Williams, what would it be and why?
I would probably choose track & field, specifically hurdles. I have done hurdles my whole life and only quit fairly recently to focus more on tennis, but I have always loved the adrenaline and challenge of it.
What is your favorite team tradition or activity?
My favorite team activity is the team dinners after practice. It is a chance for all of us to get closer and share the highs and lows of our day. There is something about those conversations that makes the team feel like a family.
Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
I think Jane Ladaga will have the most interesting job in 10 years because she is creative and always thinking outside the box. She will probably be doing something so cool that we all brag about knowing her.
What is a food you could eat every day and never tire of?
Mango. No matter how many I have, I am always ready for another.
What is your favorite place you have visited or traveled to?
My favorite place I have traveled to has to be South Africa, but I think I might be a little biased since I am from there. A South African safari to be specific.
If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be?
I would want to have lunch with whoever started high fives and talk about what made them think slapping hands was the best way to celebrate. It is such a simple gesture, but it says so much about teamwork and connection, especially in doubles.
What are the top-three songs you are listening to right now?
All Your'n (Tyler Childers), Sandpaper (Zach Bryan) and Metaphor (Marlon Funaki).
What reality show would you like to be a part of?
I would probably choose Selling Sunset.
