A 2013 graduate of Williams College, Tom Foote returns to Williamstown as an assistant coach after a career on the mats that ranks him as the most accomplished big-man in Williams College wrestling history.
This is Foote's second stint on Coach Honecker's staff, having served as Volunteer Assistant during the 2013-2014 campaign which saw the Ephs record a top-15 finish at the NCAA Championships. Foote returns to Williams after spending the 2014-2015 season as assistant wrestling coach at Episcopal High School in Houston, TX.
"It is a big step for our program to bring coach Foote back to the wrestling staff here at Williams," stated head coach Scott Honecker. "In addition to offering a lifetime of high-level wrestling knowledge, Tom has a unique ability to understand the challenges faced by our student-athletes. While he is always focused on helping our wrestlers reach the peak of their abilities on the mats, he also cares deeply about fostering their growth and development as young men. I couldn't be more excited about working with someone as passionate about our mission as him."
During his tenure as the heavyweight for the Ephs, Foote appeared in the conference finals all four seasons and was a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier. A two-sport standout, Foote was an All-NESCAC performer on the defensive line for the Williams football team in 2012.
