GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Williams College junior defender Sarah Kelly (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) and sophomore forward Sydney Jones (Boca Raton, Fla.) were named Third Team Div. III All-America tonight by the United Soccer Coaches Association. The honors were unveiled at the annual NCAA Div. III soccer banquet held at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seaons.
Both Kelly and Jones were previously named USC First Team All-New England selections, and both were also First Team All-NESCAC selections as well.
"I am thrilled to see our players be named to the All America team to represent our program," Ephs' head coach Michelyne Pinard said. "We have an incredible team that is focused on creating a team championship experience, first and foremost, so individual accolades are not our focus, however, these two student-athletes certainly are great representatives for us and they are very deserving of such wonderful recognition by coaches from around the country."
Kelly has been an critical piece of a Williams defense that has limited opponents to 11 goals over 22 games. Jones is the Ephs' leading scorer with 22 points in 21 games. Of her team-high 10 goals,eight have been game-winners.
