Williamstown, MA – In their last match of the weekend, the Lady Ephs defeated Franklin & Marshall 9-0.

On the top court, Haley Jefferson (#3) had a tough battle against her Diplomat opponent, but she came through to win the match in four. Sarah Willerth (#2) and Julia Ward (#1) struggled little against their opponents and both won in straight games.

The middle court displayed good squash today. Co-Captain Melissa Swann (#4) played through her illness again to win her match in a four-game thriller. Meanwhile, freshman stand-out Quan Ng (#5) and Co-Captain Anna Nicholson (#6) both played well to win their matches in three games.

Junior Abby LeBlanc (#7) found herself at 1-1 in the bottom court before finding her momentum to win the next two games and the match in four. Both Kathryn Wright (#8) and Mira Kamat (#9) rallied past their opponents with little difficulty to win for the Purple Cows.

Co-Captain Swann said: "It was a great weekend for the our team. Getting a clean 9-0 sweep against Mt. Holyoke on Friday allowed us to go into the rest of the weekend with confidence. On Saturday, we faced one of our closest rivals, GW. They are always closely ranked with us, so I was proud to see such a solid performance throughout the entire ladder. Then, to close out the long weekend, everyone managed to focus in and put up a strong performance against F&M. The fact that we won all three matches this weekend, including a match against one of our greatest rivals, speaks to the hard work our players and coaches have been putting in at practice since November. We hope to continue improving as we look forward to some tough matches later this season."

This week the women's squash team will be resting and recovering before they take on St. Lawrence on Friday, which is the last home match of the season. They will then travel to Boston on Sunday to play Tufts at the Harvard courts.
