Ephs Squash Tufts 9-0

Ephs Squash Tufts 9-0

Cambridge, MA –– This afternoon the women's squash team were up against one of their conference rivals, Tufts, at the Murr Center at Harvard.

First up were Juniors Sarah Willwerth (#3) and Abby LeBlanc (#6) and freshman Mira Kamat (#8). All three women played smart squash and found their groove on these unfamiliar courts to finish their matches in three straight games.

Second on court today were freshman stars Haley Jefferson (#2) and Quan Ng (#5) and Co-Captain Anna Nicholson (#7). Jefferson used her perfect lengths to take the win while Ng used a variety of serves to clinch the match in three games. Co-Captain Nicholson used smart shot placement to move her opponent around and win the match for the Ephs.

Last up on court today was junior Julia Ward (#1), Co-Captain Melissa Swann (#4) and sophomore Kathryn Wright (#9). Ward was, as usual, in fine form, not giving her opponent a chance to take a lead or win a game. Co-Captain Swann executed the perfect drops to win against her Jumbo opponent. Lastly, on the bottom court, Wright lost the first game in a close battle, but found her momentum and won the next three games to win the match 3-1.

Next weekend, the women's squash team have their final matches before the NESCAC tournament. Stay tuned!
