MIDDLEBURY, VT—This weekend the Williams women traveled to Middlebury College to compete in the Division III NCAA Diving Regionals. They faced off against many of the other top divers in the nation in an attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis in two weeks. Representing the Ephs were senior Molly Harrington and first year Gabby Mercier.
On the one meter board Mercier finished 12th and Harrington finished 25th. On the three meter board Mercier was 14th and Harrington was 24th.
Diving Coach Kit Koch had a few comments about the meet: "There was so much going on. We're a part of the toughest region in the country. There are such good divers and competition. The meet was really good experience for Gabby as a first year to get her motivated for next year. I'm also thankful for how supportive the Williams Swimmers are [of the divers]. Their presence was commendable."
Koch also had enormous amounts of praise for Harrington, who capped off her career at the meet: "Molly went from taking the diving class and only participating [on the varsity team] for three years to qualifying for regionals. She worked really hard and is a beautiful diver."
