HADLEY, MASS – Williams College sophomore Molly Craig (Mansfield, Pa.) has been named the NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week for her role in the Ephs' first two wins of the year.
Williams opened their season with a home win over Springfield College on Friday night and then on Saturday they traveled to Union College and defeated the Dutchwomen.
Craig claimed four wins over the weekend. She won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:44.84 and the 1,000 freestyle in 10:35.59 on Friday night versus Springfield. The next afternoon competing against Union College Craig took top honors in the 200 butterfly 2:08.37 and came in first in the 200 backstroke finishing in 2:08.92.
"Molly is a great asset to this team," said Eph head coach Steve Kuster. "She has a goofy, silly side that is fun to be around, but when it comes time to train and race she is all business. Molly is a lot of things, but most of all I think she is a racer. I've never seen her shy away from a race. On top of that she can swim every single event (stroke and distance) well. That versatility is great for the team."
