Neveux and Ng defeated Tufts 8-5 in their first match of the day. In their second match, they unseated the 3rd seeded team from MIT 8-6. Bush and Henderson, who are seeded 2nd in the tournament, also won both of their matches against MIT and Tufts respectively. First-year Julia Pham and junior Emily Zheng lost to Wesleyan in the round of 16.
In singles, junior Emily Zheng was defeated in the round of 16 by Ines de Bracamonte of Wheaton 6-4, 0-6, 6-3.
"It was so fun watching Emily battle today in singles and seeing Kori and Max turn the tables in doubles," said head coach Anik Cepeda. "I'm impressed with our willingness to play bravely and keep our feet moving."
The ITA will continue tomorrow, with two more rounds of doubles and one round of singles. The winners will be given All-American status and advance to the 2018 Oracle Cup, to be held in October.
