Middlebury, VT - Day Two of the ITA New England Regional Tournament is in the books for the Ephs. Going into today they had two doubles teams left in contention.
Unfortunately, both doubles teams lost today in the second round of the bracket, wrapping up Williams' participation in this year's edition of the ITA Tournament. Freshman Maya Jamroz and Senior Chloe Henderson lost to Heather Boehm and Maddi Stow of Middlebury by a score of 8-2. Freshman Zoe Bennett and senior Emily Zheng fell to Anya Ivenitsky and Camille Smukler of Amherst with a line of 8-4.
The five singles players Williams had entered in the competition were all unsuccessful in their matches yesterday, leaving the doubles pairings as their remaining hopes.
Coach Anik Cepeda commented: "Looking forward to building every day in preparation for Amherst."
A big matchup is coming next weekend for the Ephs, when they host rival Amherst. Two weeks after that is the Middlebury College Invitational, which wraps up the fall schedule for the team.
