Middlebury, VT - The Middlebury Invitational Tournament continued Saturday for the Ephs with a mixed bag of results. Playing against Middlebury, Amherst, and Brandeis, the Ephs managed to get wins in singles, improving on recent performances.
Here are some of today's bright spots for the Ephs: Senior Chloe Henderson downed Maddi Stow of Middlebury 6-4,6-3. The Ephs also found success against Brandeis in singles. Senior Emily Zheng beat Ana Hatfield 6-1, 6-1. First-year Maya Jamroz knocked off Isabel Cepeda 6-1, 6-3. Senior Sarah Yang got the better of Grace Wang by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Coach Anik Cepeda said, "Grateful for all the opportunities to compete. Shoutout to Katherine for showing up on every point. Looking forward to the final day of the Invite." Orgielewicz was involved in a number of close matches during the day, including a doubles match with Henderson that was lost to Maggie Owensby and Anya Ramras of Amherst 8-7(1).
Tournament play concludes Sunday. The Ephs wrap up their fall season with this Invitational. The spring season picks up March 7 with a matchup at Skidmore College.
