BOSTON, MA—Today, a small contingent of the women's track team traveled to Boston University to compete at the Valentine Invitational. The field consisted of numerous Division I schools and hundreds of competitors. While this is not the usual type of meet for the Ephs, Boston University has one of the fastest tracks in the world, so of course the Ephs had to take advantage of the banked facility.

Starting in the sprints, the women impressed in the 200 meter dash. Captain Kennedy Green '19 lead the Williams squad, finishing with an indoor personal best of 26.01 seconds. Not far behind, teammate Kiara Tan '22 finished in a time of 26.28 seconds. This marks a collegiate best for Tan. Deja Cunningham '22 also competed well in the 200, crossing the finish line in just 27.23 seconds. In the 400 meter dash, Megan Powell '20 had a solid race finishing in a sub-60 second 400. Her official time was 59.02 seconds. Liz Girvan '22 also raced well, breaking her previous personal best and finishing in just 61.85 seconds.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team also had an outstanding performance. The team, comprised of Girvan, Powell, Summer-Solstice Thomas '20, and Nicole Wilkinson '22, finished in just 3:58. This time is a new season best for the relay team.

A few distance runners also traveled to Boston to compete. In the mile race, Brianna Bourne '21 raced with determination. She shattered her previous personal best by over 15 seconds. She finished the event with a quick time of 5:04. In the 3000 meter event, all four Ephs that competed finished with personal bests. Captain Emily Harris '19 lead the distance women to a strong finish of 10:10. Sarah Tully '21 finished with a time of 10:26, Jaylan Fraser-Mines '21 finished in 10:31, and Lindsay Klickstein '19 finished in 10:56.

Tomorrow, some members of the team will return to the second day of the Valentine Invitational to compete in the distance medley relay. The DMR will begin at 10:30AM. In addition to the distance medley relay, another group of athletes will travel to MIT to compete at the Gordon Kelly Invitational. This meet will begin at 12PM.
