HADLEY, MA -- Williams College junior distance runner Anna Passannante (Chapel Hill, NC) was named the NESCAC Women's Track Performer of the Week for her 800-meter run Saturday in San Diego, Calif.
Competing at the California Collegiate Invitational, Passannante won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.87, which ranks first in the NESCAC.
The Ephs finished second in the team standings.
Passannante's time of 2:11.87 is the fifth fastest 800 time at Williams and only .39 off her previous best at the distance outdoors, 2:11.48, that she posted in 2017.
"Anna has worked really hard all year and brings a positive attitude to all she does," said Eph women's track & field coach Nate Hoey. "She ran a strong race running from the front start to finish on Saturday."
On March 9th running at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships in Boston Passannante was clocked in an indoor school record time of 2:11.03.
Lizzy Danhakl '11, who was timed in 2:10.54 back in 2010, currently owns the Eph record for 800 meters outdoors.
