POUGHKEEPSIE, NY—The Ephs (4-1) travelled to Vassar (4-2) for tonight's match and posted a 3-1 win over the Brewers. Williams started off strong in the first set defeating Vassar 25-17. The Ephs played consistently into the second set winning 25-19. The Ephs stumbled in the third set, losing to Vassar 20-25, but then came back strong in the fourth set to push through and win 27-25, earning Williams a win 3-1.
Senior, Emily Doll, lead the offense tonight with 18 kills. Tori Jasuta also had 16 kills, and Claire Miller had 9 kills. Tori Jasuta was the dig leader tonight with 18 digs, and Mandy Schott contributed 12 digs, with Ryan Farley close behind at 11 digs. Ryan Farley also had 45 assists during tonight's game. Gabby Miller lead Vassar's offense and defense with 15 kills and 21 digs.
"I thought we overall were very steady and consistent against a talented Vassar team," said Coach Christi Kelsey, "I am pleased with how this group is really buying into making small adjustments instantly that help us find more success in our execution overall. A lot of folks really stepped up tonight and it was a great team effort across the board."
"I'm proud of how we really fought back in the fourth set," said Captain Emily Doll, "We enforced our pace the whole game, and it was an awesome win for the team."
Tonight's win puts Ephs' record at (4-1). This weekend the Ephs will travel to Union College for the Union College Invitational.
