Chris Cobb

Chris Cobb joined the Eph women'shockey program as assistant coach in 2012. With his knowledge ofthe game and dedication to the success of the program, Cobb helpedlead the Eph women to their first NESCAC championship in programhistory. 

Prior to Williams, Cobb has spent the past five seasons as headcoach of the University of Massachusetts Amherst women’shockey team. The last three years, Cobb has also simultaneouslybeen the assistant coach of the Amherst College women’shockey team. Cobb also has experience coaching peewee boys hockeyfor three seasons and 10 years of ice hockey officiating.

In Cobb’s five years at UMass, he turned around a programthat won only four games in the season prior to his arrival andwent 68-48-13 in five seasons, including three ECWHL Championshipgame appearances, two ACHA Final Four appearances and one ECWHLChampionship. Under Cobb’s tutelage his players earnednumerous awards including seventeen All-ECWHL, seven All-Americans,and one National Player of the Year Award. Amherst went 63-14-7during Cobb’s tenure including two NCAA appearances, andthree NESCAC championship game appearances including winning the2010 NESCAC and NCAA DIII National Championship.

Cobb was selected in 2010 as the ACHA women’s select teamcoach. He coached the team on a tour of France and Switzerland inwhich they played games against various professional teams. 

A native of Swanton, Vermont, Cobb graduated from the Universityof Massachusetts Amherst in 2007 with a Bachelors degree inKinesiology including studying abroad in Australia after an injuryforced his retirement from playing hockey. Cobb also earned aMasters degree in Coaching Education from Ohio University in2011.

Cobb has also coached various camps including, USA Hockey NationalCamp, Notre Dame Female Showcase, Cutting Edge Hockey, and ACHAselect camps.

Cobb resides in Williamstown with his Siberian Husky Stanley.
