Howard Powell

Howard E. Powell, is a 2010 graduate of Wheaton College MA, hejoined the Williams College track and field team for 2011-12, hisfirst year of collegiate coaching.  As a four-year member ofthe  Wheaton College track and field team, Howard served as ateam captain for two years. In 2008-09 he became an All-American inthe 55-meter and 110-meter hurdle events. Howard earned a Bachelorof Arts in psychology and minored in history.
 
Since graduating from Wheaton Powell returned to his alma mater,Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, New York, as a volunteercoach for hurdles.  His coaching duties included creatingweekly workouts, teaching hurdle specific drills, and designingspecialized workouts for individual athletes.  While at Boysand Girls, he was also a team mentor and assisted the athletes incollege prep readiness programs.
 
During the spring semester of 2011, Howard worked as a school aideat Boys and Girls High School’s Prep for Success Academy,where he played an active role on the planning committee,coordinated field trips and advised at risk youth.  He alsoworked at the Jewish Child Care Association in Brooklyn, New York,as a service provider.
 
Howard Powell is excited to be with the Williams track and fieldprogram as an assistant coach. He is even more eager to use theknowledge he has acquired as both an athlete and coach to enhancethe athletic performance of the talented athletes on the Eph team.
