Nate Hoey is in his 13th year with the Ephs joining the Williams College Athletic Department in June of 2013.  During the past 12 years Williams has earned 11 top ten team finishes at the NCAA National championship meet; including 4 top four podium finishes; the 2019 National championship and the 2018 National runner-up finish.  Additionally, Williams has won 9 D3 New England team championships and 7 NESCAC team championship titles.  Individually, Williams has earned 156 All-American awards including 4 NCAA National champions and 10 NCAA National runner-up performances during the past 12 years.  For the team's efforts, Hoey was named USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year in 2019 and USTFCCCA Regional Coach of the Year on 12 occasions.

Prior to Williams, Hoey spent 10 years at Washington and Lee University serving as the head coach for Women’s Track & Field and assistant Women’s Cross Country coach and as associate professor of physical education.  At Washington and Lee University Hoey coached 89 ODAC Champions, 217 All-ODAC performances, 15 ODAC Athlete-of-the-Year honorees, 8 ODAC Rookie-of-the-Year award winners, 26 NCAA Qualifiers, 4 NCAA All-Americans.  The team won the ODAC Championship in 2009 and earned runner-up honors in 2013.
 
Hoey was in the inaugural class earning the USTFCCCA Masters Endorsement distinction in the Long Sprints. He is also a certified Sprint, Hurdle & Relay Event Specialist through the USTFCCCA. Additionally, Hoey is a USA Track & Field Level III certified coach in the Jumps and is a Level II Certified Coach in the Combined Events, Jumps, Sprints, Hurdles and Relays. In 2008, he was invited to attend the USATF/USOC Emerging Elite Coaches Camp held at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. He has served as an instructor for the USTFCCCA Academy Strength & Conditioning course. Hoey is a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in Exercise Science and earned his MEd from the University of Missouri in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology.

Hoey resides in Williamstown with his wife Kris and daughter Chase.
