CLINTON, NY- The Williams College volleyball team (4-6,
1-1) dropped its first match of the NESCAC weekend to Conn. College
Friday night, 3-2 (25-17,15-25,25-13,18-25,13-15). Friday
marked Day 1 of the season's first NESCAC weekend hosted by
Hamilton.
"We are in a funk right now and when it really matters, our
defense is letting us down," said head coach Fran Vandermeer.
"It's time for our players to step up and stop letting their
teammates down."
For the Ephs, juniors Chelsea Kubal (16 digs) and Andrea
Scioscia (14 digs, 2 aces), and sophomores Emily Avis (39 assists),
Kate Anderson (16 kills, 2 aces), Nicole Ballon-Landa (13 kills, 2
aces), and Eleanor Levine (16 digs, 9 kills) were the statistical
leaders.
The Ephs look to rebound on Day 2 tomorrow with conference
matches against Trinity (11:30 AM) and Wesleyan (1:30 PM).
