Ephs defeat Trinity and Wesleyan at NESCAC Weekend

CLINTON, NY -  The Williams College volleyball team (6-6, 1-1) rebounded in the second day of the NESCAC weekend, taking down Trinity College 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-11) and Wesleyan 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20).

After a slow start in the first game, the Ephs gained enough momentum to handily defeat the Bantams.  Sophomore setter Emily Avis lead the Ephs with 31 assists and 2 blocks, while juniors Chelsea Kubal (12 kills, 11 digs) and Whitney Hitchcock (6 kills, 3 aces), sophomores Kate Anderson (9 kills) and Nicole Ballon-Landa (8 kills, 6 blocks), and freshman Aly McKinnon (12 digs) made significant contributions.

Against Wesleyan the Ephs remained strong defensively and defeated the Cardinals in four games. Rounding out the numbers were Avis (31 assists, 2 aces, 4 blocks), Anderson (8 kills, 4 blocks), Kubal (18 digs, 8 kills), Hitchcock (7 kills, 4 blocks), McKinnon (8 digs), Ballon-Landa (11 kills, 9 blocks), junior Andrea Scioscia (11 digs), and sophomore Eleanor Levine (5 kills, 4 aces).

The Ephs hope to continue this streak next weekend at the MIT Invitational.
