“The team took positive steps forward this weekend,” said head coach Fran Vandermeer. “We took better care of the ball, and our offensive tempo is improving every day.”

In the day's first match, the Ephs toppled Wellesley with the hard work of sophomores Emily Avis (36 assists), Nicole Ballon-Landa (11 kills, 3 blocks), Eleanor Levine (11 kills, 4 blocks), and Kate Anderson (9 kills, 3 blocks), as well as juniors Chelsea Kubal (16 digs, 10 kills, 3 aces) and Andrea Scioscia (11 digs).

Against Bates, Avis (28 assists), Anderson (15 kills, 4 blocks), and Levine (6 kills, 3 blocks) helped the Ephs finish the tournament with the defeat of the Bobcats. In doing so, the ladies grasped 5th place in the overall tournament and won the silver bracket.

Anderson was named to the All-Tournament team.

Next weekend, the Ephs kick-off the Williams College Invitational at home against SUNY Oneonta at 4pm.
