WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- The Williams College women's swimming and diving team (8-0) continued their undefeated regular season with a 192-106 victory over Springfield Saturday afternoon.  The victory was extra special for graduating seniors Courtney Asher, Hannah Baker, Denise Duquette, Emily Gray, Caton Lee, Kristan McIntosh, Mary Molen, Claire Monroy, Amanda Nicholson, Alison Tolzier, and Anne Marie Zollo who participated in the final home meet of their career.

"First on both sides, there were about twenty seniors who finished their home career today and it means a lot to have such a larger group commit four years of hard work to this program," said head coach Steve Kuster.  "I am proud of every single senior who participated today."

On a day where the class of 2009 was celebrated, senior Zollo did not disappoint, as she scored event victories in the 200 yard freestyle (2:16.05) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:02.00).

The Ephs totaled thirteen event victories on the day as sophomore Ellen Ramsey led the pack in both the 100 yard breaststroke (1:00.79) and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:27.47).  Fellow sophomores Rebecca Tyson (1000 yard freestyle; 11:04.36), Erin Altenburger (100 yard backstroke; 1:01.44), Jillian Hancock (100 yard freestyle; 54.70), and Taylor Stevens (3 meter diving; 251.10) also posted event victories for the Ephs.

Rounding out the event wins for the Ephs were junior Christina Metcalf in the 200 yard freestyle (1:57.27), junior Lisa Cucolo in the 200 yard IM (2:12.39), first year Bonnie Patchen in the 200 yard backstroke (2:13.00), and first year Logan Todhunter (5:12.15).

"Our biggest goal for the rest of the season is to get some swimmers back and healthy because if we are functioning at full strength, we are as good as anybody," said Kuster.

The Ephs continue NESCAC action next Saturday with a dual meet at Middlebury that begins at 1:00 PM.
