NORTHAMPTON, MA - After sweeping rival Amherst 3-0 (25-19,
25-16, 25-10) early this afternoon, the Williams College volleyball
team (15-8) fell to the Tufts Jumbos 3-0 (20-25, 21-25, 19-25) in
the championship match of the Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament,
hosted by Smith.
The loss did not come without a solid effort from the Ephs.
Junior hitter Kate Anderson held strong on offense, posting 11
kills while senior Whitney Hitchcock posted 7. Junior Emily Avis
worked hard to execute the offense, putting up 29 total assists. On
defense, seniors Andrea Scioscia and Melissa Pun led the way,
digging up 19 and 11 each.
The Ephs next face Middlebury at home on October 28th for their
senior night. Game begins at 7pm.
