Ephs down Colby 3-0/Seeded 2nd in NESCAC Tourney

CLINTON, NY – The Williams College volleyball team (18-8) finished their regular season on a positive note, defeating Colby College 3-0 (25-9, 25-11, 25-13) at Hamilton.

Head coach Christi Kelsey says that “this was a great way for us to close out the NESCAC regular season. Now we have to come in and prepare next week for the NESCAC tourney.”

Junior Kate Anderson took control of the front row, posting a team high 14 kills. Seniors Andrea Scioscia and Whitney Hitchcock picked up 8 and 9 kills respectively, while junior Emily Avis put up 31 total assists. The Ephs were also very solid on service today, with Scioscia firing 2 aces and freshman Lauren Agoubi earning one.

“We got some playing time for our four freshmen so it was great to see them on court,” said coach Kelsey.

The Ephs will now head into NESCAC tournament quarterfinals on November 6 as the second seeded team. About the tournament, coach says that "it will be a battle as any one of the 8 teams can win it."
