Williamstown, MA—the Williams College men's soccer team ended the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Middlebury College Friday afternoon.

The Ephs scored in the 12th minute of the first half when Charlie Romero received a ball in the corner and tight-roped the goal line before crossing the ball into the box to a charging Kiel Bonhomme who scored from point blank range to put the Ephs up 1-0.

The Ephs capitalized again in the second half in the 54th minute when Romero crossed the ball to Bonhomme who one touched the ball to Alex Johnson in the box. Johnson proceeded to beat the keeper to put the Ephs up 2-0.

The Ephs went up 3-0 in the 74th minute after Romero connected with Gaston Kelly in the box. Kelly one touched the ball past keeper Tim Cahill to seal the victory for the Ephs.

Overall the Ephs were outshot 7 to 10 by Middlebury (11-3-0, 6-3-0 NESCAC). The Panthers also had 7 corners to just 1 for the Ephs. Middlebury Keeper Tim Cahill had 2 saves in 90 minutes of play. Peter Morrell had 3 saves on the day for the Ephs.

The win places the Ephs (11-1-2, 6-1-2 NESCAC) in a tie with Bowdoin for first place in the NESCAC. Bowdoin, however, will be the number one seed in the NESCAC tournament by virtue of their victory over the Ephs earlier this season. The Panthers drop to third place in the NESCAC.

Coach Russo was pleased with his team's effort, commenting that, "We are delighted with the win. The defense played together. I am happy for our seniors; they have struggled against this team over the years so it was great to get the win for them."

The Ephs will return to play Sunday in NESCAC tournament first round match.
