WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Williams College men's soccer team
defeated Babson College 3-1 in their home opener to remain
undefeated.
Babson got on the board early in the 11th minute of
the game when Eric Anderson received a pass from Ryan Obolewicz in
the box and put the ball past keeper Andrew
Lyons-Berg into the far post. Lyons-Berg had three saves on the
day.
The Ephs (3-0-1) got on the board in the 39th minute
when Gaston
Kelly scored off his own rebound. The Ephs scored again just
seconds later in the 39th minute when Babson (5-2-0)
keeper Peter Crowly mishandled a cross from Patrick
Ebobisse. Crowly had three saves in one half of play for the
Beavers.

Kushaina scored the final goal for the Ephs in the
58th minute. Kushaina received a through ball from Peter
Christman and finished on keeper Jackson Klein. Klein, who
started the second half for the Beavers, had three saves in one
half of play.
Overall, the Ephs outshot the Beavers 19 to 9, and had an
advantage in corner kicks of 7 to 5.
"We are very pleased with the result," remarked Coach Russo,
"Our guys maintained a good intensity, and played with great ball
speed."
The Ephs return to the field next Saturday against NESCAC
opponent Colby College.
