Cambridge, MA---The Williams College Volleyball
team opened their MIT tournament weekend with an exciting 3-0 win
against North Park(25-18 25-16 25-19). Senior Nicole
Ballon-Landa led the team with 11 kills on 15 attempts for a
.733 kill percentage. Senior Kate Anderson
chipped in 9 kills. Senior Emily Avis had 28
assists and 11 digs. Junior Aly McKinnon had
12 digs and Sophomore Mika Nikashige added 10.
In the second match of the night versus MIT, we won 3-1 (25-19
25-17 26-28 25-16). Kate Anderson had 13 kills while Nicole
Ballon-Landa added 11. Freshmen Emily Baratta, Emily Doll, and
Senior Eleanor Levine
all had 8 kills as well. Aly Mckinnon led the way with 22
phenomenal digs. Emily Avis had 44 assists.
Coach Kelsey was noted as saying, "I was really proud of how
focused and determined our team played tonight. North Park and MIT
are strong teams and I thought we did a better job tonight of
controlling the overall tempo and pace of the match. It was a great
team effort across the board and we'll need more of that tomorrow
for both matches"
The Ephs will play again against long-time rival Tufts today at
noon.
