WILLIAMSTOWN – The Ephs finished their weekend at home with a resounding 9-0 victory over Bowdoin. Williams ended the match without dropping a game, going 27-0 in games for the top 9 players.
The Sunday morning match started off strong with Lily Grant (#9), Caroline Sawin (#6), and Ellie O'Neill (#3) all taking care of their opponents each in three short games. Next up came Mia Fry (#8),Nicole Feshbach (#5), and Alli Rubin (#2). After winning the first two games of her match, co-captain Rubin showed poise and strength in a 12-10 victory over her opponent in the third game.
Last to take the courts were Hannah Kaemmer (#7), Alyssa Northrop (#4), and Laura Henry (#1). After winning a close first game (13-11), Northrop commanded the rest of the match with 11-2 victories in the second and third games. Kaemmer also had a close final game, but proved victorious with a 12-10 win in the third to seal the match.
Hailey Newbound (#10) also beat her opponent 3-0 in the exhibition match.
The Ephs return to the court on Friday when they travel to Vermont to play Middlebury in a 4:00 pm match.
