NEW HAVEN, CT – Women's squash came back strong and defeated F&M 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. After yesterday's loss, the Ephs were determined to make a statement and did so – only dropping one game in their nine matches.
A few highlights of the day included Alyssa Northrop (#4) winning the third game 13-11 to end her match. Ellie O'Neill had a strong performance at the number 2 position, defeating her opponent in three games as well. Co-captain Alli Rubin (#1) came to play and dominated her F&M counterpart, finishing the match with an 11-2 victory in the third game. Co-captain Laura Henry (#2) showed her strength and poise with her four game win. After taking the first two games, Henry's opponent forced a fourth game, but Henry made sure it was not a fifth, pulling away to win 11-9 in the fourth.
Williams will play in the consolation finals of the Kurtz Cup at 8:30 tomorrow morning against George Washington. Last time the Ephs faced GW, they came away victorious 8-1.
