Women's Squash Finishes Second at NESCACs

WILLIAMSTOWN – Women's squash finished second at the NESCAC Championships after their 9-0 loss to Trinity on Sunday morning. The Ephs came in as the second seed and held their ground throughout the tournament, beating Bowdoin 9-0 and Middlebury 6-3 on their way to their sixth second place finish in nine years.

The matches were all 3-0 across the board in favor of the Bantams. A few Ephs came close to grabbing a game, including Charlotte Walsh (#7) with an 11-8 loss in her second game. Hayley Parsons (#2) was leading in her first game 7-5, but her opponent stormed back to take the game 11-7. Nicole Feshbach (#4) was the closest to winning a game with a narrow 12-10 loss in the first game of her 3-0 match.

"It was an exciting weekend with all of the NESCAC teams in Williamstown for the tournament," commented co-captain Ellie O'Neill. "The particular highlight was our semifinal win over Middlebury. It was close per usual but we played confidently and the scores reflected that. Today, we faced the very strong Trinity squad in the finals. Even though we lost, we were so happy to have made it to the finals. As a team we are exactly where we want to be heading into the last week of our season."

Williams has one last regular season match on Wednesday, February 11^th when they will travel to Hanover to take on Dartmouth at 5 pm. With little time to rest, the Ephs will head to Boston for the CSA Team Championships. Williams will be seeded fourth in the B Division heading into the tournament and will have their first round match on Friday, February 13^th at noon versus Middlebury.
