Box Score WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—Daniel Aronowitz stole the ball at midcourt and threw down a two-handed slam to give the Williams College Ephs (12-5) a 63-55 lead over the Hamilton Continentals (8-9) with 2:18 remaining in the game. The Ephs would go on to win 73-63, moving to 3-2 in NESCAC play, while Hamilton falls to 0-5 with the loss.
Williams would get off to a very sloppy start, committing several careless turnovers. Hamilton began game on a 7-0 run. The Ephs wouldn't make their first field goal until sophomore Chris Galvin hit junior Daniel Aronowitz on a backdoor cut with 14:30 left in the first half.
Sophomore Cole Teal gave Williams its first lead of the night on a three-pointer with 10:17 remaining in the half. After trading the lead a couple times, Hamilton would take the lead for good on a layup by junior Wes Wilbur. The Continentals led 33-27 at halftime.
Michael Grassey, Peter Hoffmann, and Andrew Groll all had 9 first-half points for Hamilton. Aronowitz led the Ephs with 11.
Hamilton would maintain a single-digit lead for the majority of the second half. Aronowitz helped keep the Ephs in the game with his consistent attacking of the basket. Teal would give Williams a 52-51 lead on a three from the top of the key with 6:03 to go. It was Williams' first lead since they led 25-24 with over 3 minutes left in the first half. Teal would hit two more threes in the following minutes to help Williams extend their lead. Freshman Kyle Scadlock drilled a three from the left corner to give Williams a 61-55 lead. Hamilton would get no closer as the Ephs closed out the final minutes.
Aronowitz led the Ephs with 25 points and 5 rebounds.
Hoffmann led Hamilton with 19.
Williams next plays on Sunday, January 24th at Middlebury at 3:00 P.M.
