The Anselmi win at 174 proved to be both the last win on the night for the Ephs and the decisive win the Eph victory.
After the match Eph head coach Scott Honecker commented, "It was certainly not our best performance, but one thing I can say definitively is that everybody gave their all. We're going to have to make some adjustments tactically and technically to make sure we are on the longer end than a 2-point win when we get 12 points via forfeit."
"I'm glad we could send our four seniors Carl Sangree, Matt Morris, Chris Washington and Jake Savoca out with a win in their final home dual match," stated Honecker.
"Luke Anselmi wins 'the heavy lifter award' tonight winning the bout that ultimately decided the match," noted Honecker. "It was nip and tuck until the end, but Luke had a deep gas tank and a great effort in the third period that helped him out last and out score his opponent."
"First year Joe Rossetti is on track at 141 pounds," said Honecker of the promising young Eph who keeps improving at a rapid pace.
Next up for the Ephs is a trip to the Citrus Invitational in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they will compete on Dec. 29 and 30.
