Women's Squash Falls to Trinity Bantams

On Friday night, women's squash team faced one of the most formidable teams in college squash. Excited for the opportunity to play the Trinity Bantams, we had trained hard all week. Coming off of our relatively close match against Penn, we looked forward to another chance to play good squash. Starting off, Melissa Swann had a crisp win at number 9 against a relatively weak opponent. Julia Ward at 3 played an incredible 3 gamer and won due to her consistency and lack of mistakes. Truly a highlight of the weekend for all watching. Sarah Willwerth fought well but ultimately lost in 3 to a strong opponent who played a very good match. Anna Nicholson won quickly after Melissa against a relatively weaker opponent. Co-captain Ananya Mahalingam Dinghra played well but lost in 3 at position 5, as did Esther Baek at 4, due to their opponents well-honed offensive play and quick hands. Abby Leblanc, at position 7, lost in 3 as well to a strong opponent who managed to hit several nicks. Co-captain Hayley Parsons played well but also lost in 3, but had many long rallies and a close game. Co-captain Nicole Friedman fell in 3 to one of the top 5 players in college squash. Overall, an exciting result against a team that has swept us 9-0 in recent years.
