Thank you to Shannon Irish, Coordinating Producer Broadcast Services for the Miami Heat for sharing this Inside the Heat video on Duncan Robinson.
Â
Duncan Robinson played his first year at Williams College before transferring to the University of Michigan. Without Williams it is doubtful there would have been a Michigan experience for Duncan. Duncan's coach at Williams,
Mike Maker, sent Michigan head coach John Beilein game tapes and a recommendation for Duncan when Maker was leaving Williams to coach at NCAA DI Marist College. Maker had previously been an assistant under Beilein at the University of West Virginia.
Â
Duncan is the first player to play in the NCAA DIII and NCAA DI championship games and the first player to go from DIII to DI and receive aÂ
full scholarship.
Â
He holds the Eph record for most points scored by a first year = 548 (17.1)
Â
At Williams he made 81 of 179 threes = 45.3%
Â
Duncan is the first Eph to make the NCAA All-Tournament Team as a first year (2014).
Â
He was also the D3hoops.com National Rookie of the Year (2014).
Â
Duncan was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year (2014) and earned Second Team All-NESCAC laurels.
Â
On Jan. 6 Duncan became the fastest player in NBA history to make 300 three-pointers in a career, needing just 95 games to reach 300. Luka Doncic and Damian Lillard are tied for second fastest to 300 each needing 117 games.
