Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Ephs Blank Owls, Win 2-0

KEENE, NH -- Eamon Gara-Grady ('24) got his first goal of the season in the 15th minute, as the Williams College Ephs (4-0-5) kept yet another clean sheet and beat the Keene State Owls (3-7-1) 2-0 away.

Gara Grady's goal came from a free kick, where the ball was passed back, short, to Felipe Gutierrez ('25), who whipped in a cross and found the junior center-back's head.

The Ephs attacked eagerly and often in the first half, as another set piece in the 20th minute narrowly missed being put in by Jamie Holland ('23).

Williams scored their second soon after, in the 21', from a long throw, which have posed a danger all year to Eph opponents.

The ball was initially cleared from the box,and was volleyed back and forth through the air, never touching the ground, before falling to Keel Brisset ('25), who took it out of the air and guided it home with one deft touch.

Williams almost scored an own goal in the 52' when Gara-Grady, hungry for the scoresheet, could only get half a head on an Owl cross, and flicked it backwards. Goalkeeper Justin Hartwig ('25) was forced to make a very good catch.

Hartwig did well to keep his second half clean sheet, making another fine save from a headed effort, this time coming from a Keene State player, in the 83rd minute

Set pieces were where the action came from this game, with Cole Morriello ('26) and others providing dangerous-looking service that often caught the Owl back line out. Two attempts ended up in the back of the net, but it always seemed that it could have been three or four.

The undefeated Ephs add a tick to the win column, and return their focus to NESCAC play, next Saturday, when they take on Connecticut College at home.
