Clinton, NY -- This evening, the Williams women's squash team traveled to Hamilton College to challenge the Continentals in their first match of the season. The Ephs swept their opponent while playing strong squash.
Up first were Co-Captain
Quan Ng (#2), Deena Iqbal (#6), and
Isabel Kelly (#9). These three were efficient on court and each beat their Continental opponent 3-0.
On next were
Haley Jefferson (#1),
Mira Kamat (#5), and Co-Captain Niki Srivastava (#8). Jefferson and Srivastava stayed focused securing the fourth and fifth wins for the Ephs. Kamat continued the streak while battling through injury. She fought hard to close out her impressive match in the fifth.
The last wave of matches was played by
Amanda Solecki (#3),
Nora Brant (#4), and Roshni Pal (#7). On her top court debut, Solecki played strong and won in straight games. Brant and Pal played impeccably as well, closing the day with another two wins.
After the win, Co-Captain
Quan Ng commented, "I'm really proud of the team for having a really solid start to the season. It's reflective of the hard work the team put in during preseason. I'm looking forward to the rest of our matches this fall."
The Ephs are ready to carry this momentum into Ithaca for their match tomorrow against #7 ranked Cornell University.
