Williams Volleyball Lands At-Large NCAA Tournament Bid

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – Christi Kelsey's Williams volleyball team (16-9) has earned an At-Large  berth in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Ephs will head to the eight-team regional being hosted by MIT Nov. 16 -18 in Cambridge Mass.

The Ephs are competing in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year and for the fifteenth time overall.

Kelsey's Ephs who finished second in the recent NESCAC Tournament this past weekend will play Salisbury (23-5) on November 16 at 11:30 AM.

The winner of the Williams vs. Salisbury match will advance to play the winner of the Thursday match between Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (22-5) and UMass Dartmouth (20-6) on Friday with both teams battling to advance to the regional finals on Oct. 18.

Joining MIT (29-4) on the other side of the regional bracket are Alfred (14-13), Cortland (23-5) and Gettysburg (23-5).

A strong showing showing in the recent NESCAC Tournament where the sixth seeded Ephs advanced to the championship match but were defeated by Wesleyan no doubt convinced the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee the Ephs were worthy of a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Christi Kelsey commented, "What a great honor to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament again this year. It is awesome that we have 4 NESCAC teams represented! Our team has worked hard to earn this opportunity and we are so proud of our entire crew. We are excited to compete together again in the national tournament and looking forward to the upcoming weekend!"
