Ephs take home NESCAC championship win

Middletown, CT – On day 4 of the NESCAC championship swim & dive meet, the Ephmen take home the championship trophy, scoring 1819.5. This win follows 4 days of fast swims, clean dives, and hard-fought racing.

An award ceremony was held following the session. Kobe Tray '23 won both Diver of the Meet and Career High-Point Diver following an incredibly successful meet and NESCAC career. Tray was voted as the Diver of the Meet award for the second straight year after sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events for the second consecutive year. The senior also totaled 183 career points at NESCAC Championships to earn the Career High-Point Diver honor. Nick Whitcomb was named Career High-Point Swimmer. Whitcomb totaled 337 career points at the NESCAC Championships. He is the 15th Williams swimmer to earn the award. At the 2023 championships, Whitcomb earned All-NESCAC honors in four events with a win in the 50 backstroke, a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay and the 200 backstroke, and a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke. Dive Coach Devon O'Nalty was named Diving Coach of the Year. O'Nalty earned the Diving Coach of the Year award for the second consecutive season and third time overall.

The final award - the team total is given purely based on the number of points scored at the NESCAC championship meet. The Ephmen scored an incredible 1819.5 points to win the meet by 163 points. The Ephs now look forward to diving regionals next weekend and the NCAA championship in March in Greensboro, NC, which will be the final meet to complete the swim and dive season.
