In the final day of competition at NCAAs, the Eph women took home the 5th place title and the
men took home 8th. This is an improvement in team finish by both teams from last years finishes.
Highlighting the night was a string of top 8 All-American performances from the team. This was enabled by a thrilling prelims session.
Â
To kick things off, Nye Hanan captured the 8th place title in the mile. Hanan swan in the second heat of the men's mile in the prelim, winning his heat by a significant margin. After the top heat swan at night, the time he posted was good enough for a podium finish. This marked a massive personal best for the sophomore.
Â
Lily Codd continued the distance momentum with a 6th place finish in the mile, and ended an outstanding and very much dominant career.
Â
Samuel Brozek swam in his first A final in the 100 freestyle after breaking the school record set by Jamie Lovette in the prelims. He finished 8th. Fellow first year
Sophie Phelps also competed in the championship final on the women's side, taking 7th. This was Phelps' third individual A final of the meet.
Â
Whitman Horton had an outstanding personal best performance in the B final of the 200 backstroke. He continued to find time to drop and did so with a stellar back half.
Irene Yang finished her career in the B final of the 200 backstroke as well — a job well done.
Â
Alden White swam a massive personal best in the prelim of the 200 backstroke to make the A final, posting a 1:58.94. This was her first time under 2 minutes. She swam it again at night in her 2nd NCAA Championship final, and took home 5th place.
Â
Carter Roebuck and
Anna Doherty crushed the 200 breastroke finishing 5th and 7th respectively. The powerhouse duo has been dominating the event all year at the NESCAC level, and was able to translate that dominance to the NCAA stage.
Â
To conclude the evening, the men's 400 freestyle relay placed 5th with a team of
Theo Randall (44.9),
Mason Green (44.1),
Ryan Nunez (44.95) and Sam Brozek (44.15). The team put up their best relay performance of the season. The women similarly did a fantastic job with a team of
Clare McDermott (51.56),
Esme Van Orden (50.90),
Emma Dimter (51.34) and Phelps (49.95). They placed 6th overall.
Â
All in all, the last day of completion saw everything from school records to first time podium finishes. This marks the end of the 205-2026 season for both teams — 2 NESCAC
Championships and a 5th/8th place NCAA finish.
