Clinton, NY- Williams College #7 playoff seed (11-11-1, 6-9-1 NESCAC) is eliminated from the playoffs by Hamilton College #2 (#4 nationally ) playoff seed (18-4-2, 12-3-1 NESCAC) after a very close 3-1 game (2-1 with empty netter)
Game Highlights
- Williams received the first penalty of the game for tripping, on the subsequent powerplay Hamilton moved the puck up through the slot and scored 1-0 in the topshelf at 5:16 in the first.
- In the last 45 seconds of the first period the Ephs created several close shots on net, nearly tying the game. A shot by
Ellia Chiang slipped past several skaters and bounced off of Hamilton goaltender Evie Sheridan blocker deflecting nearly into the net but went just wide.
-Williams came out flying in the second period, putting Hamilton on their heels for much of second.
Maddie Tix hit the crossbar in the second, nearly tying the game.
-Williams tied the game 6:44 into the third,
Ellia Chiang deked the puck around 2 skaters passing it to
Leah Rubinshteyn just outside the crease. Coming from the left side, Rubinshteyn lifted the puck up over Sheridan's blocker connecting with the back of the net to tie the game 1-1. Williams continued to push with Tix hitting the crossbar again, almost extending the lead 2-1.

Robin Kitazono nearly took the lead of the game for the Ephs with a backhanded shot on goal aiming for the opening between the post and Sheridan's skate but it went just wide hitting the post.
-Hamilton took the 2-1 lead after a flurry in front of Pye and a long extended cross zone stay, taking a pass to center the puck which was shot into the back of the net with 1 minute remaining in the game.
-Ten seconds later at 19:10 Hamilton secures their win with an empty net goal making the final score 3-1.

- Hamilton was able to take advantage of the power play, going 1-4 Williams was unable to do the same going 0-2.
The Women's Ice Hockey team has had a tremendous season this year. They built their way into a consistent top 20 ranked team in the nation. They have competed and played competitively against the best in the league and nation, and come out on top several times.
