Williams Beat Trinity in Overtime 2-1

Williamstown, MA - Whilst welcoming ice hockey in Harlem, Williams College (10-9-0, 5-7-0 NESCAC) beat Trinity College (9-9-1, 3-8-1 NESCAC) in a close 2-1 game after a goal in overtime sealed their win.

Game Highlights
- Williams created a lot of offensive pressure in the Trinity zone firing off many close shots. Robin Kitazono fired off a shot missing just wide of the net, it was recovered by Anna DiChristina who attempted a rebound shot that hit the post. Once again the Ephs recovered the puck, this time Jill Parsons shot it bouncing off opposing goaltender, Leclair, nearly finding the back of the net.

- Williams continued to maintain good control of the puck giving Ellia Chiang the opportunity to find an opening in the net and shoot the puck from the slot up past several Trinity skaters into the back of the net, giving Williams the first goal of the game 10:37 into the second, making the score 1-0.

- Halfway through the third period Trinity took a shot from in front of the net while screening Erin Pye from being able to see, allowing them to score and tie the game 1-1, 11:40 into the third.

- With 2 minutes left in the game Maddie Tix created a 2 on 1 shot attempt nearly scoring in the top shelf but was blocked by Leclair.

- Tix came back 1:00 into overtime with a 1 on 1 attempt to skate around the front of the net and slotted the puck into the top shelf of the net with a shot from outside the crease sealing the Eph win 2-1.

By the Numbers
- Williams Erin Pye saved 33 shots on goal missing 1, Trinity Hannah Leclair made 28 saves missing 2.

- Neither team was able to score a goal on the power play both Williams and Trinity were successful in denying one power play opportunities
