Williams Ties #7 Middlebury on the Road 1-1

Middlebury Vermont- Ephs (10-9-1, 5-7-1 NESCAC) tie #7 Middlebury (13-5-3, 13-5-3 NESCAC) on the road 1-1. The Ephs went up 1-0 after the first and a late power play goal by Middlebury pushed the game to overtime. Neither team was able to score in the 3v3 OT.

Game Highlights
- After a back and forth first period, the Ephs skillfully defended Panther pressure with two loose pucks in front of the Eph net. Erin Pye blocked several rebound attempts and the Ephs were able to regain possession and skate the puck out of their zone.

- Williams, Claire DeVries and Anna DiChristina, with less than a minute remaining, stole possession of the puck, working together to get it through the neutral zone. They found an opening, passing the puck to Maddie Tix who skated it down the right side of the ice in a 2-1 attempt shooting it into the topshelf of the goal past a Middlebury skater and goaltender Sophia Will giving them the 1-0 lead, 19:32 in the first.

- Midway through the second period, Ellia Chiang quickly skated down the ice with speed, she took a close shot from inside the circle but missed just high, nearly extending Eph lead.

- Williams received a penalty for tripping, giving Middlebury an extra skater on the ice. The Panthers used this to their advantage and were able to score a power play goal tying the game to 1-1, 13:13 into the third.

- Tix skated the puck to the goal looking to end the OT game by poking the puck into the net between Will's skate and the post  nearly succeeding but it got pinched between the goal post unable to squeeze past her skate.

By the Numbers
- Ephs went 0-1 on the power play, Panthers were able to go 1-2.

- Williams Erin Pye made double the saves tonight blocking 46 shots letting in 1 goal, Middlebury Sophia Will made 20 saves also letting in 1 goal.

Coach Gillis remarked on today's game "I thought our team came ready to play tonight against a top ranked national opponent. We have shown all year we can compete with those teams and I'm excited to see what we can bring at home at 7:00pm tommorow"
