Scores:
Claremont Mudd Scripps 7, Williams 3
Claremont Mudd Scripps 5, Williams 1
Location: Claremont, CA
Records: Williams 0-2, CMS 10-3
The Short Story: Williams' defense struggled from the start and they couldn't string hits together on their first day of competition in Southern California. Four pitchers toed the rubber for Williams, giving up five earned runs in eighteen innings.
Coach's Take: "We learned a lot today and saw some good performances. Some poorly timed errors on defense and a mental mistake or two really cost us. Our first years got a chance to wear the purple and gold and competed hard, and the entire team was excited to be together on the field. We'll be back ready to go tomorrow." Head Coach
