SALISBURY, MD – In the top of the fourth inning Eph third baseman
Bailey Burger-Moore opened the scoring in the game with a two out home run to left field.
Salisbury responded in a big way in the bottom of the inning tallying five runs with the first run that tied the game at 1 all coming on four walks issued by Eph pitcher
Sadie Leonard.
Leonard had trouble finding the strike zone that inning, walking in 4 more runs to put Salisbury on top 5-1.
Elyse Chan replaced Leonard and she retired the first batter she faced on a fly out to center field.
Salisbury's 6
th and final run came in the fifth inning when Emily Stockman tripled to left center leading off the inning and she then scored on a wild pitch.
The Ephs out hit Salisbury on the day 6 to 2, but walks, and a wild pitch fueled the Sea Gulls offense and led them to the regional title.
Williams finished the season with a record of 24-7.
Sadie Leonard took the loss for the Ephs and finished the season with a record of 18-6. Three Ephs were named to the All-Tournament Team:

Center Fielder Taylor Wise
Salisbury improved to 42-3 on the year with the win and winning pitcher Lindsey Windsor won her 14
th game of the year and is 14-1 this season.

Kris Herman noted, "It was a great weekend for Williams softball.
"I'm really proud of this team all around, and I think all of the players and coaches are. In March, no one thought we'd be among the regional finalists, but this group of people stuck together and battled together to make the Team (capitalization intended) better every day.
