Ephs Lose Final Game to MCLA, 11-4

Williamstown, MA - The Williams College Baseball team was defeated Thursday by MCLA, 11-4. 

Taking the win for MCLA is Garrett Brunette, who pitched a single inning and allowed no earned runs. Unfortunately, Michael  Amendola took the loss for the Ephs, pitching an inning and allowing 4 earned runs.

The Ephs started off strong, gaining an early lead of 3-0 in the first two innings. Henry Juan scored the first run of the game, courtesy of a well-executed single from Cole Whitehouse. Sasha Palma followed up with a powerful triple to right field, setting up Dave Mosrie to score him with his own triple. Luca Lopetrone also contributed to the score, driving Mosrie home with a groundout.

Williams held their 3-0 lead until the fifth inning, when Clarence Givhans took charge at the plate and sent Rachiele and Wormuth home with a clutch hit, tying the game up after Randyn Adams had grounded out.

In the seventh inning, the Trailblazers scored 4 runs, with Givhans scoring his second run of the game on a sacrifice fly out from Medina. Ty Mazzeo and Aidan Brett added to the score with a couple of singles, pushing the Trailblazers' lead to 7-3. The Ephs scored their last run in the seventh inning, thanks to another single from Whitehouse.

MCLA added 2 runs in both the eighth and ninth innings, concluding the ballgame with a final score of 11-4.

Despite the loss, the Williams baseball team can hold their heads high after a hard-fought season, finishing with a record of 13-17. Although the final outcome may not have been what they hoped for, the team showed resilience and perseverance throughout the year, leaving fans with plenty of exciting moments and unforgettable plays to remember.
