HADLEY, MASS. – Seven members of
Mark Raymond's 2024 Eph team that posted a 5-4 record and shutout arch rival Amherst 21 in "The Biggest Little Game in America" Homecoming weekend have been honored in a vote by the NESCAC football coaches.
First Team All-NESCAC honorees include senior offensive lineman
Tim Forth, senior linebacker and captain
Ethan Scott, while senior running back
Mario Fischetti, junior offensive lineman Joseph Ngnombgouowo, sophomore defensive back
Holden Gering. kicker
Ivan Shuran and punter Leo Maiuolo were accorded Second Team laurels. Forth was a Second Team honoree in 2023 while this was Scott's first All-NESCAC honor.
Forth a senior captain was a stalwart on the Eph offensive line and a major factor in keying the Eph running game. In 2023 Forth was named to the All-NESCAC Second Team.
Scott also a captain totaled 25 tackles (16 solos), 10.5 tackles for a loss of 47 yards also registered 4.5 sacks for a loss of 27 yards and forced one fumble.
Ngnombgouowo earned his first All-NESCAC honor as a key force up front on the Eph offensive line that created running room for the Eph running backs as well as protecting the quarterbacks playing in and starting all 9 games.
Gering was used on both offense and defense this season seeing time as a wide receiver and a defensive back. He was honored as a Second Team defensive back where he had a team high 35 solo tackles and assisted on 3 tackles. In addition, Gering led the Ephs in interceptions with 5 and he broke up 7 passes and forced 1 fumble.
Fischetti was a dynamic presence for the Eph offense leading the squad with 532 yards for an average of 6.7 yards per carry. He tallied 5 TDs in the 7 games he played. One of Fischetti's TDs was an 80-yard burst outside along the opposing team's sideline.
Shuran had a spectacular final season. He converted all 26 of his PATs and was 9 for 9 on field goals with a long of 47 yards. His kickoffs totaled 2,508 yards for an average of 58.4 yards. 18 iof his kickoffs were touch backs. He was named Second Team Special Teams. In 2021 he was named to the All-NESCAC First Team and in 2022 he earned Second Team laurels.
Maiuolo punted in all nine games for the Ephs and his 46 kickoffs traveled 1,856 yards for an average of 40.3 yards per punt. His longest punt of the season went 70 yards. One punt was a touch back, 11 resulted in fair catches, 18 ended up inside the opponent's 20 yard line, and he had three other punts that went over 50 yards. Maiuolo joined Shuran on the Second Team Special Teams.
