Women’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Bronze Award for Team Ethics and Sportsmanship

KANASAS CITY, MO. – For the second consecutive year Sara Raymond's Williams College Women's Soccer Team has been honored by the United Soccer Coaches for fair play.

This year Raymond's (8-5-3) Eph team earned a bronze award for team ethics and sportsmanship. The United Soccer Coaches bronze award for college team Ethics and Sportsmanship recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season based on the number of cards accumulated divided by the number of games played.

"We are honored for our program to be recognized by the United Soccer Coaches with a Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award," noted Raymond. "I believe it is important that while we step on the field to compete to win at all moments, we also compete with class, grace and respect for the opposition. I am proud of our players for representing Williams in these ways."

This year the bronze award went to 32 teams in all three NCAA Divisions of Men's and Women's play. Teams that accumulated a percentage of cards ranging from 31-50% of games played qualified for the bronze award.

In 2023 Raymond's Ephs earned a silver award.
