The Short Story: The teams had twenty-seven hits between them in the two games, yet strong pitching held the losers to just two and one respectively. Williams came from behind in game one, the big hit coming on a two RBI
Sydney Fleming '25 double that just missed going out of Spicer Field. Ephs pitcher
Katie Blanch '27 held the #17 nationally ranked Jumbos to just one earned run and once again had a big impact with her defense on the mound.
In game two the Jumbos bats came alive, scoring ten runs, nine earned off of three Williams pitchers to take a run-ahead rule victory.
Coach's Take: "The day was a bigger success than the scoreboard will tell you. We continue to hit really well and need to stay confident that we'll put the hits together. Leaving runners on has proved to hurt us a number of times, and again today. That, and some rough defense that gives the other team extra opportunities, has turned out to be a problem on the scoreboard. Once again, we learned a ton this weekend and can't wait to get back to Cole Field." - Head Coach
