HARTFORD, CONN -- Williams (6-0, 3-0 NESCAC) secured its sixth straight win of the season victory blanking Trinity College (2-3, 0-3 NESCAC) 4-0. The Ephs once again showcased the hard work they've put in on the field. The Ephs demonstrated great offensive power, out shooting Trinity 37-4 and registering 11 penalty corners to Trinity's 3. The Williams defense remained strong throughout the match, allowing Trinity only one shot on goal.
The Ephs started off strong, out shooting Trinity 6-1 in the first quarter. However, both goalies were able to save all the on-goal shots. Williams registered three penalty corners during the first quarter. Despite their efforts, the first quarter ended in a scoreless tie, 0-0.
The Ephs' persistence paid off in the second quarter, resulting in a goal. Williams registered a total of 8 shots on goal and earned two more penalty corners. After multiple attempts by

Linda Bibeau, and
Pilar Torres,
Haley McAuslin scored the Ephs' first goal at 17:32, assisted by
Natalia Nolan. The Ephs continued to defend fiercely and owned a 1-0 lead at the half.
Recharged after halftime, Williams entered the field determined to increase their lead. Just 7 seconds in,
Meaghan Boehm scored the Ephs' second goal. Williams earned another penalty corner at 34:08, which was blocked, but
Haley McAuslin quickly followed up with the Ephs third goal at 36:08. The Ephs maintained their offensive pressure, adding three more penalty corners and four additional shot attempts, concluding the third quarter leading 3-0.
Just over two minutes into the fourth quarter,
Madeline Rowland scored the Ephs' fourth and final goal, assisted by
Haley McAuslin. First year Eph goalie
Miriam Silver authored her first win and first shutout as an Eph.
With this win, head coach
Alix Barrale collected her 250th win as the head coach of the Ephs and her 300th win as an NCAA DIII head field hockey coach. Her first 50 wins came while serving as head coach at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
Coach Barrale commented after the game, "So proud of our team. Miriam stepped it up in her first college start. Once we adjusted to the speed of the surface (Astro Turf) we settled in and capitalized on offensive circle play. I can't think of a better team to share my 250th Williams win and 300th career win with. I am incredibly humbled.I am grateful to Williams and all the joy working there brings. I am one lucky person."
The Ephs will next play on Saturday, the 28th, at 11 a.m. against Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
