HADLEY, Mass. - After averaging 22.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game during a 3-0 effort over the last few weeks for the Ephs, senior captain and guard/forward Arianna Gerig of the Williams College women's basketball team earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors for the third time in her stellar collegiate career.

During the 3-0 stretch, Gerig went 11 for 11 from the free-throw line and 28 of 54 from the field (51.9%). The Westport, Connecticut, native also took home the conference's Player of the Week award on Jan. 31, 2022, and Nov. 13, 2023.

During the 2024-25 season, she leads the NESCAC in free-throw percentage (88.5%), while ranking third in points (17.8), third in steals (1.9) and sixth in rebounds (8.3) per game. The versatile student-athlete earned NESCAC All-Conference First Team recognition at the end of her junior season in 2023-24.

"I am excited to be named NESCAC Player of the Week," said Gerig. "I am proud of the team and could not have done it without them. We have elevated our play and are in an exciting position coming into conference play. I cannot wait to see what else we can achieve together on the court."

The Ephs went 2-0 during the Cruzin Classic Tournament in Flordia on Dec. 19 and 20, defeating Concordia (Wis.), 59-48, and No. 9-ranked Gettysburg, 58-54. During the two-day event, Gerig averaged 26.5 points in efficient fashion, shooting a combined 22 of 37 from the field (59.5%).

Against Gettysburg, she finished with a season-high 27 points and tied a season-best six steals, while shooting 9 for 9 from the charity stripe and 9 for 17 from the field (52.9%). Gerig dropped 26 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field (65.0%), to go along with nine rebounds, in the triumph over Concordia.

She totaled 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals during a 60-44 triumph at Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Middletown, Connecticut.

"Arianna had a tremendous tournament in Florida and was a dominant force down the stretch in our game with Gettysburg to help seal our win," said 35th-year head coach Pat Manning. "She followed that up with a strong showing at Wesleyan. Arianna's game continues to grow and evolve. She puts effort and energy into improving her game. I am thrilled for her well-earned success."

Gerig has scored 20 or more points in four of the last seven games and collected double-digit rebounds in four of the last eight games, while recording four double-doubles on the season.
