NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Williams College women's soccer team improved to a 9-2-3 overall and 6-1-2 in the NESCAC after defeating Connecticut College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Williams dominated offensively, outshooting Connecticut College 18-4 and holding a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
The Ephs wasted no time getting on the board, as Kianna Porter opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a perfectly placed long-range shot into the top right corner, marking her first goal of her career.
Less than a minute later, Maya Lloyd headed home a corner kick from Ansley Burns, doubling Williams' lead to 2-0 in the early minutes of play.
The Ephs maintained steady offensive pressure throughout the first half, tallying nine shots, five of which were on target, but were unable to find the back of the net.
Lily Mark recorded the lone goal for both teams in the second half at the 77 minute mark, finishing a sharp low shot off a pass from Elle Long, who set her up from the corner of the box.
Goalkeeper Margaret Huelin secured her ninth shutout of the season, making two saves on the day.
The Ephs will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 28, with their final home game, a 3:00 p.m. matchup against Middlebury College in their last regular season NESCAC game.
