WILLIAMSTOWN, Ma – The Williams College men's soccer team fell 2-1 in the first round of the NESCAC tournament to Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.
Williams struck first in the 21
st minute as
Alex Bethencourt delivered a shot from the top of the box into the bottom left corner, giving the Ephs an early 1-0 advantage.
Connecticut College responded back at the 37
th minute with a goal of their own from Max Haberman to tie the game up at one a piece.
The Camels held the advantage in the first half with 17 shots and nine shots on goal compared to the Ephs four shots and two on goal.
Connecticut College took an early lead in the second half with a goal by Gavin Vanden Berg in the 56
th minute.
Williams pushed back in the second half, outshooting the Camels 15-9 with six shots on goal, but could not find the equalizer.
